Georgia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster is an affiliate of National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (NVOAD). National VOAD, an association of organizations that mitigate and alleviate the impact of disasters, provides a forum promoting cooperation, communication, coordination and collaboration; and fosters more effective delivery of services to communities affected by disaster.
Georgia VOAD is a humanitarian association of independent voluntary organizations who may be active in all phases of disaster. Our mission is to foster efficient, streamlined service delivery to people affected by disaster, while minimizing unnecessary duplication of effort, through cooperation in the four phases of disaster: preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.
